A Delegation from Edge Hill University visited City University of Macau


On October 23rd, George Talbot, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Edge Hill University and his fellows visited CityU and discussed with Pro-Rector IP Kuai Peng and Dr.Sean Li, Academic Registrar on the exchange and cooperation between the two universities.

 

Both universities conducted detailed discussion on the student exchange programs, visiting Phd and staff, academic training, summer courses, joint degrees and some other topics, with the aim to build up a multi-cultural learning platform for teachers and students by deepening cooperation in the areas of comparative education, cultural industry and data science.

 

Founded in 1885, Edge Hill University is the earliest teacher education university in the north of England. It has won the National Gold Prize for excellence in teaching and has been nominated three times by The Times Higher Education Magazine “University of The Year”. In 2017, it was named “The Best Student Experience University” in the northwest of England. During 2019 summer, CityU organized 20 students to attend English Language Improvement courses in Edge Hill University and all the students successfully completed their studies.

 

The guests that also participated in this visit were Carmel Roche, Director of the Language Center of Edge Hill University, and Prof. Paul Ashton, the Dean of Biology.
