Dr. Sean Li, Academic Registrar of CityU, was Invited to Attend 2019 Edge Hill University Academic Forum of Outstanding Teaching Performance


The Academic Forum of Outstanding Teaching Performance was held at Edge Hill University in UK on 5-6 June, 2019. Dr. Sean Li, CityU Academic Registrar and Dean of School of Education, was invited to give a research report at the forum.

 

This forum was sponsored by the center of excellence in teaching from Edge Hill University, using online teaching, innovation technology and internationalization of education to improve students’ learning experience, curriculum and teaching theories. Some famous professor from University of Johannesburg, University of Southampton, University of Liverpool and University of Plymouth also attended the forum. As an expert in the field of educational phenomenology, Dr. Sean Li shared his report entitled Teach less, Learn more: CityU Action Research Project Report at the forum.

 

During the forum, Dr. Sean Li had a meeting with Professor George Talbot, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Edge Hill University, and his fellows. Both sides agreed to further deepen the cooperation between two universities in the exchange programs. The two sides have also conducted a discussion on the projects of students' semester exchange and visiting Phd, etc., which were expected to provide more overseas exchange opportunities for CityU students in the next academic year.

 

Founded in 1885, Edge Hill University was originally a training college for women teachers in the United Kingdom. It is the oldest teacher education university in the north of England. It has won the national gold prize for its outstanding in teaching and has been nominated three times by The Times Higher Education Magazine "University of The Year". In 2017, it was named The Best Student Experience University in the northwest of England. Dr.Sean Li has been employed as a visiting professor of Edge Hill University since 2012.
