CityU Signed MOU with Royal Roads University, Canada


On 31st May, Dr. Aallan Cahoon, President of Royal Roads University; Dr. Pedro Márquez, Vice President of Royal Roads University; and Dr. Steven Chen, Greater China Chief Representative of Royal Roads University, visited CityU. They were well received by Prof. Kong Fanqing, Vice Rector of CityU; Dr. Sean Li, Academic Registrar of CityU, Mr. Chan Chon Pat, Secretary General of the Council of CityU; Dr. Khong Yueng Wah, Executive Associate Dean of Faculty of Business of CityU; and Dr. Chau Ka Yin, Executive Associate Dean of Open Institute of CityU. Both parties conducted a cordially discussion and signed the MOU.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas on their respective philosophy of education, the ways to attract and nurture think-tanks, and conducted discussions on concrete ways to facilitate future cooperation. Vice Rector Kong remarked that the collaboration with Royal Roads University can improve CityU’s education quality up to international standard, increase the prominence and reputation of the university on the world stage, as well as elevate the global outlook and academic performance of the students. Meanwhile, President Cahoon expressed that the cooperation can foster the exchange of teachers and students between the two Universities, and strengthen the connection between Macau and Canada. RRU has great faith and high expectation on the collaboration with our university.

The two universities signed a MOU on cooperative education, student exchange, and talents training, etc., which marked the official start of the cooperation between the two Universities.
