Deputy Director Li Zhaohui of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of CPC Quanzhou Municipal Committee visits CityU, promoting higher education between two places


Mr. Li Zhaohui, Deputy Director of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the CPC Quanzhou Municipal Committee, led his delegation to the City University of Macau (CityU) today. Prof. Kong Fanqing, Acting Rector of CityU, warmly received the group. The guests were given a tour of the campus environment and teaching facilities. Both sides held discussions on learning and exchanges and vocational education and signed memorandums of understanding to promote higher education between the two places.

 

 

 

Acting Rector Kong Fanqing expressed her warm welcome to Deputy Director Li Zhaohui and his delegation at the meeting. She said that Quanzhou city and CityU have developed a profound linkage based on previous exchanges and cooperation projects and hoped that both sides could further cooperation projects to steer the continuous improvement of the quality of higher education.

Deputy Director Li Zhaohui introduced the strengths and characteristics of the three visiting universities and hoped the meeting would deepen the cooperation between the two places and drive Quanzhou's education development, especially vocational training. Vice President Cai Jinpei of Quanzhou Vocational and Technical University, Vice President Yu Liang of Quanzhou College of Technology, and Board member cum Vice President Chen Yongxin of Quanzhou Ocean Institute hoped that Quanzhou universities and CityU could strengthen cooperation in short-term student exchange, mutual visits, and research projects. They hoped to cooperate with enterprises to nurture professionals and promote vocational education and training programmes.

In the following section, CityU signed memorandums of understanding respectively with Quanzhou Vocational and Technical University, Quanzhou College of Technology, and Quanzhou Ocean Institute, aiming to facilitate higher education development between the two places.

 

Guests and representatives attended the meeting and signing ceremony. They included Lin Tao and Fu Yangyang from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the CPC Quanzhou Municipal Committee; Director Wang Liangping of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the CPC Shishi Municipal Committee; Director Chen Jinshang of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the CPC Jinjiang Municipal Committee; Director Wang Pengsheng of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the CPC Nan'an Municipal Committee; Deputy Director Wang Huan of Cooperation and Exchange Department of Quanzhou Vocational and Technical University; Dean He Zhenpeng of International College of Quanzhou College of Technology; Cai Xiaolian of Academic Affairs Office of Quanzhou Ocean Institute. CityU members including Vice Rectors Ip Kuai Peng and Chee Seong Chin; Executive Dean Li Xi of Faculty of International Tourism and Management; Director Che Ka I of Rector’s Office; Head Daryl Yang; Director Ho Chan of International Training and Testing Center, also attend the event.
