University News Announcement CityU faculty and students embark on summer overseas workshop in Prague to enhance design visions

The Faculty of Innovation and Design (FIAD) at City University of Macau (CityU) organizes an annual overseas exchange program to Architectural Institute in Prague (ARCHIP). Recently, Assistant Professor Lisa Lee Meng Shun led a group of eight FIAD students to embark on a two-week "Summer Glass Workshop" in Prague. The workshop was joint by 40 faculty and students worldwide, aiming to enhance extracurricular experiences, nurture interdisciplinary talents, and promote design thinking. By visiting local glass museums and interacting with manufacturers, artists, FIAD students gained inspiration and a fresh understanding of the art form and were able to incorporate newfound insights into their own projects. This experiential learning fostered creative exploration and enriched their design visions. CityU and ARCHIP have established a strong foundation for academic exchange and collaboration. During the summer exchange program, both institutions engaged in in-depth discussions and exploration regarding their respective strengths, culture, and disciplinary development.
