Prof. Chulwon Kim, Dean of College of Hotel & Tourism Management at Kyung Hee University, and experts and scholars from Korea’s hotel and tourism sector visited CityU


On 13 January, Prof. Chulwon Kim, Dean of College of Hotel & Tourism Management at Kyung Hee University, and experts and scholars from Korea’s hotel and tourism sector visited CityU in the company of Mr. Lao Chi Long, President of Macau & Korea Interaction Association. They were warmly received by Prof. Shu Guang Zhang, Rector; Dr. Sean Li, Academic Registrar; and Dr. Gavin Chau, Executive Associated Dean of FITM. Both parties also conducted a discussion during this visit.

Kyung Hee University is a profound higher education institution of Korea founded in 1949, encompassing over 100 majors such as Humanities, Medical Science, Art & Design, Physical Education, etc. Among them, College of Hotel and Tourism Management has grown to be the largest and most respected program of its kind in Korea, aiming to cultivate highly competitive future leaders in the industry. It maintains sister relationships with 344 universities in 59 countries.

During the discussion, both parties exchanged viewpoints on higher education system and tourism management between Macau and Korea. Rector Zhang gave a brief introduction of the background of Macau Higher Education, as well as the development plan of our university. He expressed that CityU is actively expanding its internationalization scope by launching globalized cooperation and exchange projects. It is expected that both parties can establish a liaison channel for strengthening relationship, offering intercollegiate exchange programs to teachers and students of each university and boosting cultural exchange between two regions.
