A delegation from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, UCSC) led by Dr. Edilio Mazzoleni, Assistant Rector for International Engagement and Innovation Education, visit City University of Macau today, where they received a warm welcome from Rector Jun Liu. The two parties signed a letter of intent for cooperation, laying a solid foundation for deepening collaboration between the two universities. The two universities engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on key topics such as inter-university collaboration, student exchange programs, and joint educational initiatives.At the meeting, Rector Jun Liu warmly welcomed Assistant Rector Edilio Mazzoleni and his delegation. Rector Liu provided a detailed introduction to the history and development of CityU, its distinctive faculties, academic strengths, faculty and student scale and structure, as well as the achievements in internationalization. He emphasized that in the future, CityU would continue to leverage data science support to promote the development of cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields, particularly in five key areas: data science, fintech, health and wellness, applied linguistics and intercultural communication, and city development, to achieve innovative growth.

He highly praised CityU’s achievements across various fields and expressed hope of establishing a further cooperative relationship, working together to advance student joint training programs and further development.
Looking forward, both parties expressed their anticipation for strengthening cooperation and jointly exploring more opportunities in faculty and student exchanges, joint training programs, as well as academic and cultural exchanges.
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is a multi-campus university founded in 1921. As one of Italy’s top universities, it is the largest private university in Europe. The university has 12 colleges, offering 42 undergraduate programs and 46 postgraduate programs, with over 41,000 enrolled students, of which international students account for about 12%. CityU faculties participated in the meeting discussion. They were Adrian Cheung Wai Kong, dean of the Faculty of Finance at CityU; Sun Pei, executive associate dean of the Faculty of Health and Wellness; Jacky Li Xi, executive associate dean of the Faculty of International Tourism and Management; Zhu Tianqing, associate dean (research) of the Faculty of Data Science; and Kathey Che Ka I, director of the Rector’s Office.
