University of Jinan President and Deputy Party Secretary Liu Zongming and delegation visit CityU to promote talent development


 

Liu Zongming, president of the University of Jinan (UJN) and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of UJN, led a delegation to visit the City University of Macau (CityU) yesterday, where they were warmly received by Rector Jun Liu. The guests toured the campus environment and teaching facilities, and the two sides held in-depth discussions on topics such as joint talent cultivation, collaborative scientific innovation, and faculty-student exchange visits, reaching a consensus on deepening cooperation.

 

 

Rector Jun Liu extended a warm welcome to the delegation, giving an overview on CityU’s educational achievements in terms of historical development, disciplinary construction, and industry-academia development. He expressed his expectation to carry out in-depth cooperation with UJN in faculty-student exchanges and disciplinary construction.

 

 

President Liu Zongming introduced UJN’s history, characteristics, industry-academia collaboration, the development of science and engineering disciplines such as artificial intelligence, and humanities and social science disciplines such as sociology and law. He looked forward to seeking more opportunities for cooperation through this visit. The two sides had in-depth discussions on cooperation prospects in talent cultivation, faculty exchange visits, and scientific research development, aiming to promote collaborations across different areas and further advance the high-quality development of talent in both regions.

 

 

Other attendees from UJN included Xu Qingguo, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, director of the United Front Work Department, and director of the Office of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Affairs; Gao Gongjing, head of the Humanities and Social Science Office and dean of the School of Political Science and Law; Liu Zhen, head of the Cooperation and Development Office and director of the Alumni Office; and Xu Xijin, dean of the School of Physics and Technology. From CityU were Andy Liu Wenjian, associate dean of the Faculty of Data Science; Li Hongjiang, program coordinator of the School of Law; and Wu Cheng, head of the Office of Global Affairs.
