CityU Students participate in overseas short-term Summer Study Programs

All students enrolled in the four short-term summer study abroad programs this year have successfully began their classes in the United States, Canada and Portugal. The first group started in the University of New Mexico for a  4-week language and culture immersion program, followed by student joining in the intensive language training seminars in University of Alberta in Canada and the University of Minho in Portugal, finally the last group arrived in Royal Roads University in Canada to participate in Future Business Leadership Program. The four groups of students have already integrated into overseas living styles and the learning environment.  For the students whom went to Canada, they had been living with their local host families for two weeks now, they felt that their overall English communication skills have significantly improved than before, and they are able to experience the pure North American culture from their Canadian families everyday; for the 20 students whom went to Portugal to study Portuguese language and culture, they are now able to introduce themselves in Portuguese after two weeks or concentrated language training, through the knowledge they gained from class and visits to various cities and towns of Portugal, they have built thorough understandings of Portuguese cultures and its people.
