From November 16 to 18, CityU Rector Prof. Shuangguang Zhang and Academic Registrar Prof. Shuying Li attended the 110th anniversary of Fujian Normal University and “Sino-Foreign University President Forum, the 6th Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Normal Universities Presidents Forum”.
More than 100 university presidents and representatives from universities of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, the United States, the Great Britain, Russia Federation, Finland, and Portugal attended the Forum. Rector Zhang and Registrar Li took part in the discussions on the theme of "Opportunities and Challenges in University Development" and "Comparison and Prospect of Teacher Education" respectively. Presidents from different universities have fully exchanged their experiences and jointly discussed the new ideas for reform and development of universities and colleges.
During the visit to Fujian Normal University, Rector Zhang on behalf of CityU, signed a mutual cooperation agreement with Fujian Normal University Rector, Changping Wang. Both sides agreed to cooperate in such areas as strengthening exchange visits between teachers and students, setting up programs for promoting students by recommendation, establishing a joint training mechanism for students and building up a platform for teaching Portuguese as a foreign language. Fujian Normal University and CityU both hope that the communication on cultural, academic, and educational areas will be further advocated and continued in our future cooperation.
