In mid-March, CityU Registrar Dr. Sean Li and representatives of the Global Exchange Office visited Hanoi, Vietnam to participate in the BMI Global Education Exhibition and visited Vietnam National University and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.

More than 60 educational institutions and university delegations from Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the United States took part in he BMI Global Education Exhibition. CityU representatives met with many universities and educational institutions in BMI Vietnam and promoted the English academic programs of Faculty of Business and Faculty of International Tourism and Management. The recently launched CityU short-term study exchange program for foreign students has attracted the interest of many participating educational institutions and high schools, and some of them expressed the willingness to visit our university in the near future.

During the conference, CityU representatives were also invited to visit the Vietnam National University. Professor Nguyen Duc Huy, vice president of its University of Education, one of the seven member universities, heads of departments, and university international office staff welcomed the visit of our university. The two sides discussed on exchanges of teachers and students, and joint academic symposiums. The two universities also intended to sign mutual memorandum of understanding to further promote cooperation.

CityU representatives also visited Chulalongkorn University, Thailand's top university after Vietnam exhibition. Its Director of Education, Professor Siridej Sujiva, and the heads of departments and representatives welcomed the visit of our university and negotiated a tie-up with our university in exchange visits and collaborative teaching for teachers and students. CityU invited Professor Archhanya, the head of the Department of Lifelong Education at Chulalongkorn University, to visit Macau in May to give a lecture to continue interactive learning between teachers and students of the two universities.

The visit strongly deepened our understanding of students studying abroad in Southeast Asia and other regions and defined our goals of cultural diversification and internationalization of enrollment. CityU will continue to follow up and explore more international cooperation projects to provide our students with a richer learning experience and exchange resources.
