CityU Hosts Chinese Language Workshop to Foster Cross-Cultural Communication and Language Proficiency

CityU organized a Chinese Language Workshop on November 5, 2025. Designed for international students, faculty, and foreign visiting scholars, the event aimed to enhance participants’ practical Chinese language skills, deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, and create a more inclusive academic and cultural exchange atmosphere.

Beyond language teaching, the workshop integrated rich cultural elements to make learning more vivid. A special session on traditional Chinese culture was held, where participants experienced Chinese calligraphy under the guidance of teachers. The interactive and immersive experience triggered enthusiastic participation, with participants actively asking questions and sharing their feelings, making the scene warm and lively.

The successful conclusion of the Chinese Language Workshop has won wide praise from participants. A foreign visiting scholar from Portugal said, “This workshop is very practical. It not only improved my Chinese level but also let me know more about Chinese culture, which is of great help to my work and life here.” The event has further enriched the university’s international exchange activities, laid a solid foundation for strengthening cross-cultural communication, and promoted the continuous development of the university’s international education cause.
