The 2025 Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) – City University of Macau (CityU) “Large Model Intelligent Computing and Networking Conference” was held in Beijing on August 19. Hosted by BUPT, ten outstanding CityU students fully took part in the eight-day academic exchange. The event promoted professional dialogue between young learners from Beijing and Macao in the cutting-edge field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), opening a new professional academic platform to promote higher education cooperation between mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao.
This symposium was a major program of the 2025 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao University Exchange Program. It was coordinated and organized by BUPT and its elite faculty team to provide comprehensive organizational and academic support for the symposium.
During the event, faculty and students from the two universities focused on frontier topics in “large model intelligent computing and networking,” engaging in in-depth discussions on core themes such as “spatiotemporal modeling of data traffic in intelligent computing center”, “intelligent air navigation systems”, and “multimodal integration of vision and language in AI”. Through a dynamic blend of keynote lectures, group seminars, and hands-on laboratory training, participants sparked ideas and learned from each other in critical technological areas, including large model architectures and intelligent computing network optimization.
CityU students also visited a series of national-level scientific, educational, and cultural institutions, including the State Key Laboratory of Information Photonics and Optical Communications, the China Science and Technology Museum, the China Telecommunications Museum, and the China Aviation Museum. These visits enabled students to gain first-hand insights into the nation’s strategic research initiatives and technological advancements in information and communications technology, thereby strengthening the connection between theoretical knowledge and industrial practice. The event reflected the positive trend of cooperation and development progress between Beijing and Macao in higher education. CityU faculty and students have deepened their understanding of China’s national sci-tech innovation strategy through structured academic exchanges and cultural visits, reinforcing their commitment to regional scientific collaboration.
Looking ahead, CityU and BUPT will continue to strengthen their cooperation across different levels, expanding the scope of exchange in AI and information technology, and jointly build an effective platform for cultivating high-level scientific and technological talents.
