1. Questions Regarding Credit Transfer and Course Selection
(1) How to determine the major and courses to be studied at the exchange school, and whether credits can be transferred after returning to school?
A: Regarding professional courses and credit transfer, please consult the course director of your Faculty for relevant matters.
(2) How do I choose a major to ensure complete credit transfer? Can I fully transfer credits to the same major I'm currently studying at the exchange university? If credits cannot be transferred, will I need to retake them in the next semester or academic year?
A: Regarding credit transfer, please check the relevant university's official website for course arrangements and communicate withthe course director of your Faculty. For questions about retaking courses, you can also consult the course director or check the student handbook.

A: Applicants need to communicate with the course director of your Faculty and consider the requirements of the exchange university.
2. GPA Issues
(1) What are the GPA requirements for exchange student applications? Is a GPA of 3.9 sufficient for application?
A: Regarding applicant selection, the Global Affairs Office will adhere to the principles of fairness and impartiality, screening and comprehensively evaluating all application materials received. Furthermore, based on the requirements of the exchange institution, we will recommend our students to the best candidates. Therefore, GPA is not our sole consideration, and we currently cannot provide a precise reference standard. For other requirements, please refer to the required application materials.
(2) How is GPA calculated for one semester during an exchange program?
A: Please refer to the student handbook for questions regarding GPA. For further questions, please consult the Academic Affairs Office.
3. Letters of Recommendation
(1) Number of Letters of Recommendation
A: Only two letters of recommendation are required during the exchange application process, from two different professors. The letters of recommendation must list all the schools you are applying to (if you are applying to three exchange schools, you must list the names of all three schools on the letters of recommendation).
(2) Format of Letters of Recommendation
A: The professor's signature on the letter of recommendation must be a handwritten signature on a paper copy (electronic signatures are not accepted).
4. Other Questions
(1) Are the personal resume and awards for exchange students limited to those from their undergraduate years? (1) Can I include my high school resume?
A: Your resume can be filled out according to your actual situation. As long as it's truthful, the Global Affairs Office doesn't have a strict requirement.
(2) If I fail to get into any of my three preferred universities, does that mean I can't participate in the exchange program? Or will they fill in a vacancy based on a comprehensive assessment?
A: The Global Affairs Office prioritizes applicants' preferences and will fill in vacancies based on the actual situation.
(3) Can I apply for exchange programs with universities that don't have a partnership with our school?
A: Semester-based exchange programs are limited to our partner universities. Please visit the Global Affairs Office website for specific exchange programs.
(4) Will Tonclass continue updating the course content from my home university after I go on an exchange program?
A: After successfully being admitted to the exchange program, students need to communicate with their respective colleges and withdraw from all courses at CityU Macau for the exchange semester. Therefore, the course content of CityU Macau during the exchange semester will not be updated on Tronclass.
(5) Does the mention of "good English proficiency required by CityU Macau and the exchange institution" in the application qualifications refer to a hard requirement of having English language scores such as CET-4/6 or IELTS?
A: Please refer to the actual requirements of the exchange institution for specific language requirements. If the exchange institution does not have specific requirements, the Global Affairs Office hopes that applicants can provide relevant language proof documents as much as possible. The Global Affairs Office will consider applicants based on the materials provided and the interview situation (if the application proceeds to this stage).
(6) Regarding the length of stay for exchange students
A: The length of stay for exchange students is a requirement of the Overseas Students Service Center. If you have any questions, please consult the Overseas Students Service Center. Generally, students from our university who are on exchange programs can apply for a certificate of enrollment from their exchange institution after the exchange program ends, as supporting documentation for not being in Macau during the exchange period.
(7) Can I resubmit the form if there are any changes needed?
A: You can click the link to resubmit your application. The Global Affairs Office will process your application according to the last version submitted before the deadline.
