A delegation led by Zhang Lefu, vice chairman of the Jiagnsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited the City University of Macau (CityU). The visit included a tour of the Sino-Portugal Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Science of Cultural Heritage Conservation and campus environment, and a discussion regarding talent cultivation, Macao’s higher education, and collaboration.

Rector Jun Liu and Vice Rector Zhou Wanlei received the delegation. Rector Liu highlighted CityU’s achievements in development history, discipline construction, industry-academia collaboration, external exchanges, and academic development directions, emphasizing the University’s commitment to nurture interdisciplinary talents and serve local, regional, and national development through collaboration with other universities and enterprises. Vice Chairman Zhang Lefu affirmed CityU’s educational philosophy and its achievements in discipline construction, talent cultivation, and patriotic education. He highlighted Jiangsu’s focus on promoting the development of big data and big health industries, which aligning well with CityU’s development directions.

Both sides expressed their hopes to establish a sound mechanism and platform for cooperation in big data, big health, urban management, and cultural exchanges, leveraging their talent and technological advantages to promote mutual development.
