Entry and Visa Requirements for International Students City University of Macau
Entry Requirements
- In possession of a passport, travel document or other document accepted for the purpose of immigration control, and the document should be valid for at least 90 days beyond the period of intended stay in the Macao Special Administrative Region
- For international students who are required to switch to student visas after entre into Macau, the passport should be valid for at least 6 months (180 days) beyond the period of intended study.
- City University of Macau acceptance letter
- Proof of at least MOP5,000 as their means of subsistence during their stay in Macao. (you may present your online banking record at the border).
Note: All students are required to have an entry visa except nationals of countries exempted from a visa or entry permit.
Case 1. Visa” and “Entry Permit” Exemption
Nationals of the following countries are exempt from a visa:

“VISA”
Nationals of the following countries must apply for a Macao visa in advance through a Chinese embassy or consulate.
- Bangladesh
- Nepal
- Nigeria
- Pakistan
- Sri Lanka
- Vietnam
Case 3. Application for an “Entry Permit” (“Visa-upon-arrival”) Visa-upon-arrival fee:
- MOP200 (one-off entry)
- MOP300 (multiple entry)
Required Documents:
- Passport
- Acceptance letter from City University of Macau
- Proof of residence address (issued by City University of Macau)
- Proof of at least MOP 5,000 as means of subsistence during your stay in Macao (Student may present your online banking record at the border)
After Arriving
Upon entering Macao, you will receive a small slip of paper indicating your “Authorized Stay Until (Day-Month-Year)”. All non-local students must go to the Immigration Department to apply for Special Authorization to Stay after arrival.
